Whether you drive a Challenger, Charger or a Dodge Truck, the D.U.I. will
improve the performance of your hot rod. If you're installing a Mopar
Performance crate engine, the D.U.I. is the ideal ignition system for it.
Our Dodge/Chrysler D.U.I. is the only one-piece ignition
system for Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. This is a simple drop-in unit. The coil
is inside the cap and the module is inside the distributor. Just run one 12 volt
hot wire to the distributor and you're ready to run! There is also an optional
tach hookup. The D.U.I. eliminates ALL of the messy wiring found on stock
Dodge/Chrysler ignition systems. This really cleans up your engine compartment.
The Dodge/Chrysler D.U.I. is available in either the
Street/Strip version (up to 7000 rpms) or the Racing version (up to 9000 rpms).
Both units will allow you to run a whopping .055" spark plug gap, providing
a more powerful burn of the fuel mixture. Our Dyna Module is designed with more
dwell time producing a hotter spark. No ballast resistor is used. Stock Mopar
systems, and many aftermarket systems require a ballast resistor which reduces
voltage in the ignition system. Our D.U.I. allows full voltage into the ignition
system, giving you a better spark and more power.
Every D.U.I. is custom curved on a distributor machine
based the specs of your Dodge or Chrysler engine. A super smooth advance curve
will eliminate engine damaging detonation and provide instant throttle response.
The Dodge/Chrysler D.U.I. is a real work of craftsmanship. Although it is
uniquely designed, replacement parts are easy to find. GM High Energy Ignition (H.E.I.)
replacement parts will fit right on the D.U.I. The unit is polished and lubed as
it is assembled. Built for durability, the D.U.I. has an upper and lower
bushing, unlike stock Chrysler distributors with only one bushing.

Performance
Distributors now offers a high performance electronic ignition system for the
big block Chrysler engines. Since the introduction of the D.U.I. distributor for
small block Chryslers, we received many request for a unit for the big block
motors. Due to the large size of the DUI, it will not fit next to the valve
cover on a big block. This put our engineers to work using a smaller diameter
distributor. The results were the new Tri-Power Ignition System. The Tri-Power
ignition system features our Dyna Mod (HEI style module) mounted externally to a
Chrysler distributor housing. The system also includes our high voltage
"Inferno" coil which is mounted externally from the distributor. The
Inferno coil allows spark plug gaps to be opened to an incredible .055".
Each Tri-Power distributor is custom tuned on a distributor machine based on
your cam duration & lift, compression ratio, octane of fuel and vehicle
weight. A super smooth advance curve will eliminate engine damaging detonation,
provide instant throttle response and produce maximum power throughout your
entire rpm range. With the combination of the high voltage coil and high dwell
module, you will notice quicker starting, smoother idle and better performance
up to 7500 rpms!. The new Tri-Power ignition system is also available for
Chrysler small block applications. This system is ideal for small blocks in
Darts, Demons, Dusters and pre 1970 Barracudas that also cannot use the DUI.
