Performance Distributors Ford D.U.I. (Davis Unified Ignition) is the only one-piece ignition system for Fords! This is a simple, drop in unit. The coil is inside the cap and the module is inside the distributor. Just run one 12 volt hot wire to the distributor and you're ready to run! There is also an optional tach hook-up. The D.U.I. eliminates ALL of the messy wiring found on stock Ford electronic ignition systems. This really cleans up the engine compartment.

The Street/Strip Ford D.U.I. is built with a 50,000 volt coil that allows a whopping .055" plug gap to be run and this will provide a more powerful explosion of the fuel mixture. The Dyna Module is designed with more electronic dwell time producing a hotter spark. No ballast resistor is used. Stock Ford systems, and many aftermarket systems require a ballast resistor which reduces the voltage in the ignition system. The D.U.I. allows FULL voltage into the ignition system, providing a better spark and more power.

Every D.U.I. is curved on a Distributor machine based on the specs of your Ford motor. A super smooth curve will eliminate engine damaging detonation provide instant throttle response.

The Ford D.U.I. is a real work of craftsmanship. Although it is uniquely designed, replacement parts are easy to find. High Energy Ignition (H.E.I.) replacement parts will fit right on the D.U.I. The unit is polished and lubed as it is assembled. Built for durability, the D.U.I. has an upper and a lower bushing, unlike stock Ford distributors with only one bushing.

The Race Ford D.U.I. (Davis Unified Ignition) is a one-piece ignition system that is designed for 9000 RPM's. It has the Racing D.U.I. Coil mounted inside the distributor cap and the Dyna-Module inside the distributor. It is an easy drop in installation with a one wire hook-up and no spark boxes are needed! This is the only one-piece, magnetic, 9000 RPM distributor available for the Fords.

The Racing D.U.I. only draws 2 to 3 amps off of the battery, whereas point type ignitions and spark boxes drain 10 amps or more. The Racing D.U.I. Coil and the Dyna-Module produce a long duration spark allowing spark plug gaps to be opened up to .050"-.055". Magneto ignitions can only run .015"-.025". The Race D.U.I. sends twice as much fire into the combustion chamber than a magneto. Horsepower is gained because more fuel is burned on each piston stroke. Spark Plugs stay cleaner longer. The Race D.U.I also makes point-type systems obsolete and saves time and money because points do not have to be changed for every race. The Racing D.U.I. Coil is designed to run cooler than all other coils including oil-filled coils. The units wider distributor cap terminal spacing eliminates cross fire which occurs in small diameter caps.

The Racing Ford D.U.I. advance system is curved for better throttle response and more power. All of the moving parts are hand fitted to assure the smoothest advance curve possible. The weights are fabricated from very high quality hardened steel which makes them virtually maintenance free. More timing can be run (without detonation) than with stock distributors and after market curve kits. Each distributor is curved on a distributor machine for the engine it is going into according to the customers engine combination. These units are available with or without vacuum advance and include a brass terminal cap and rotor in bright blue, racing red or black.

We offer a "Stock Appearing" Ford Duraspark for those who want a completely stock appearing electronic distributor. Each Duraspark Electronic Distributor is custom calibrated and blueprinted for your Ford engine to provide maximum power, torque and instant throttle response. A super smooth advance curve assures excellent performance and mileage. The vacuum advance is calibrated for maximum fuel economy and light throttle ping is eliminated. Comes with a brass terminal cap and rotor. Use our Street/Strip Module and Coil Kit if you are turning 6500 rpms or less. If you are turning more than 6500 rpms, order our Racing Ford Ignition System. The Duraspark distributor will work with other modules and coils, but rpm ability is not guaranteed.

The unit includes our Dyna-Mod, a state-of-the-art module that makes dual point systems obsolete. Our Racing Coil and Ultra Conductive Coil Wire is also included to make sure all the voltage is delivered to the combustion chambers. The brass terminal cap and rotor provide maximum conductivity. The unit comes with a large diameter cap, but is available with a smaller cap if desired. Complete wiring and instructions are provided to make installation quick and easy.
